Transformation of Students' Religious Character Through Strengthening Al Islam And Muhammadiyah

Abstract

This study aims to explore the transformation of students' religious character through strengthening Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan-based education at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta. It is hoped that this research can make a significant contribution to the formation of a young generation that has strong faith and noble character. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through interviews, documentation, and data analysis which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that strengthening Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan was carried out through various habituation before learning activities, such as reading prayers, asmaa'ul Husna, repeating selected letters in the morning, as well as implementing dhuha and dhuhur prayers in congregation. Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan teachers act as motivators, guides, and directors who always encourage students to worship, which in turn contributes significantly to the formation of students' religious character. Therefore, the importance of the integration of habituation-based Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan learning is expected to strengthen students' persistence, and support the achievement of character education goals, both inside and outside the classroom.
